Kudos on tour! Where we’ll be in late 2015

August 20 2015 / By Charlie Rapple

It occurs to me it’s about time for another update on where you can find the Kudos team in the near future.

I'm currently in Baltimore, MD to speak tomorrow at the north American conference of ISMTE (International Society of Managing and Technical Editors) about how we can best market authors and encourage them to participate in promotion of their own work. Melinda will talk on a similar topic at ISMTE's European conference, on 13 October.

In between the two, you can find David and Melinda at the ALPSP Conference (9-11 September). Charlie will also appear briefly there on the Thursday, not least for the Awards Dinner where we wait with bated breath to learn whether Kudos will win the 2015 ALPSP Award for Innovation in Publishing. On September 23rd, Melinda will be speaking about the role of marketing and promotion within the area of scholarly communications at the NISO Virtual Conference.

In October, Charlie will be in Amsterdam for the 2:AM conference (7-8 October), before Melinda, David and Ann head to the Frankfurt Book Fair (14-16 October); David will be at the STM Conference on 13 October, he and Ann will both be at the ALPSP dinner that evening, and Melinda will be interviewed about the increasing author-centricity of scholarly publishing as part of the CCC’s Town Hall-style “Open Access: the next wave” meeting (15 October, Hall 4.C Alliance function room, 9am).

In November, David and our newest team member Rebecca will be at the Charleston Conference, where Kudos is at booth #129 during the vendor showcase on 4 November. The following week will see Rebecca at NEPCo (10 November - more waiting with bated breath to see how we fair in the New England Publishing Collaboration awards!) while David will chair ALPSP’s “Setting the standard” seminar. Charlie will be at the UKSG One-Day Conference and Forum (17-18 November).

And finally! In December, Rebecca will be speaking about “promoting your own content” as part of a PSP lunch seminar in New York City on 8 December.
