For immediate release, October 9th, 2017 – Kudos, the award-winning service for maximizing research impact – has been voted into the top three emerging companies in the global information industry.
Outsell – leading market analysts in the data, information and technology industries – had previously selected Kudos for its top 30 “ones to watch” for an unprecedented third year, from the 250 early stage companies that they track. Kudos was then further shortlisted amongst the top 8 and invited to pitch to the audience at the Outsell Signature Event in Boston on 4th October 2017.
Each company was given 5 minutes to present, followed by 5 minutes of questions. The audience was then asked to invest a virtual $1m in the companies of their choice based on the following criteria: 1) uniqueness of approach with an innovative business model; 2) market runway with potential for real growth; 3) addresses legitimate market pain points; and 4) answered audience questions successfully. Kudos received strong support, receiving the third highest total virtual investment from amongst those companies presenting.
“This is a huge achievement for us,” said Melinda Kenneway, Cofounder and Executive Director of Kudos.
We’re a small company without the glamour of Silicon Valley backing; but we have passion for the problems we’re working to solve. I think the audience identified with our early significant progress in user growth and revenue; as well as our potential for bringing more transformative and beneficial change to how research is communicated.”
“The quality of companies selected to present at this year’s Signature Event was incredibly high”, added Ben Sampson, Head of Product at Outsell. “To get listed in our top 30 they have already been rigorously reviewed by our analysts. The voting audience at the Outsell Signature event represents CEOs, COOs, Presidents and Managing Directors in the global information industry; for Kudos to be voted into the top 3 by this discerning group is a real accolade.”
At the Outsell Signature Event Kudos presented for the first time plans to broaden its coverage of research outputs beyond publications; to greatly expand the range of channels and metrics covered; to introduce a new framework for influence tracking based on analyzing reach, resonance and results; and the development of premium products for advanced impact planning, management and optimization.
