Co-operative research project provides cost-effective way to gain strategic insights about the implications of COVID-19 for the information sector
Kudos, the award-winning service for accelerating research impact, is pleased to announce that the Royal Society of Chemistry is the first headline sponsor to join its ‘Brave New World’ research project. The study, which will take place in November and December 2020, will provide publishers, societies and providers of related services with insights and recommendations in relation to the effect of COVID-19 on research funding policy, university budgets and practices, and researchers’ workload, workflows and publishing choices.
Harp Minhas, Publisher, New Business Development at the Royal Society of Chemistry, notes that: “The timelines for this project fit well with our strategy development. However, the continued pace of change means it is already necessary to update our intelligence, and the Kudos model of ‘co-operative research’ across multiple partners makes it both a cost-effective and timely way to ensure we are basing our plans on the most current situation for researchers, institutions, funders and publishers.”
